Why does my cat get annoyed if I talk or have a conversation with some else in the room? She loves to be on my lap whenever I’m home, she is very smart and spoiled, very social and loves constant attention, but if she is on my lap perfectly content and I start talking to someone else in the room, she jumps off my lap and goes into pouting mode. Sometimes I whisper to not offend her and she’ll look at me with a warning look as if to say, if you start talking, I’m leaving. It’s so weird and have never been able to find any answers or anyone else who has a cat like her.

yes it is often the assumption when cats do something that they don't normally do that they are mad at us or that they are trying to get back at us for something. This is a great perspective and glad you shared it!

Fantastic article - so well said. I can't believe how many times people have told me that "their cat is getting even with them" or other such nonsense. I am so happy I now have an article to send them so that they can think twice about what is really going on!
